Nursery Art Prints for Minted

Nursery art prints for Minted

More than a decade ago, I entered a design challenge on a site called Minted in hopes of getting my artwork seen by someone who wasn’t blood-related. I wasn’t quite sure what would come out of this contest (and generally avoided contests in general, as they were often big time-sucks), but for whatever reason, I decided to enter a few designs regardless.

Prior to finding this site, I bought paper in bulk and printed off art prints & wedding stationery using the $100 inkjet I found on sale at Best Buy. Have you ever tried trimming multi-layered invitations by hand with an X-Acto knife? Take my word for it…this is NOT a fun way to spend your evenings.

You can only imagine my excitement when I discovered a way to transform digital artwork into printed paper pieces & wall décor without potentially slicing off a finger or two.

After receiving a message that notified me of a winning design, I was hooked.

Minted allows artists from all around the world to contribute designs that are made into stationery, home goods, & unique gifts. They take care of the manufacturing and printing so artists can focus more on their work and less on the not-so-exciting aspects of running an e-commerce shop.

Over the years, it has been really fun to see designs come to life as art prints, wrapping paper, stationery, & more through Minted’s site.

It is through this company that I got to see a couple of my art prints featured in West Elm, which was a huge win in my early surface design days.

Surface pattern design is something that’s been on my radar for years, & I’m incredibly grateful to finally bring this vision to life. From hand-drawn illustrations to wrapping paper & fabric designs, my goal as an artist is to create work that makes you feel right at home.
